In more recent news, BFL doesn’t know how to do even the more elementary database security configuration and broadcast their admin password to everyone:

And they’re attempting to double bill people for express shipping. They are also forcing people to choose express shipping without being able to see the cost, and refusing to let them go back to normal shipping once they do see the cost after selecting it.

Yeah well that little box, you dont need a 9-5 job, its making about what part time minimum wage job a month is taking in. Plus that box will work for who knows how many years so it will pay for its self who knows how many times. Butterfly Labs is a freash company that any other company has delays and problems when making any electronic. Remember Microsoft how they made the Xbox 360 And somehow the RED RING happen even though they are one of the biggest companys in the world? Yeah I think you need more Research Son. btw Butterfly Labs Paid for the CES 2013 BitCoin booth . A Scammer would never ever show up in person. Work on that research you do. While people like this just prove you wrong in every way lol http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/18f3pd/i_have_my_entire_retirement_and_savings_invested/

Weird or not I also ordered a miner 2 and half months ago and find out that it is still pending production. I tried writing to the customer support, but they didn;t replied. I had to contact them regarding their company details and ID, but the reply I got was rather insulting – We are incorporated in the state of Wyoming – try contacting them!! Are these guys crazy? 😀 I start to feel I have been scammed big

They are indeed scammers and people that order from them can´t do basic math. Anyone trying to mine Bitcoins should know what the mining difficulty is. It’s exploding, every single day. As the difficulty increases, this means you have less chances of mining any Bitcoin at all.

For those that still don´t get it. If you buy one of these devices from them, by the time you receive it, (assuming you do received, as 99% of their customers never received anything even as far as 1.5 years from ordering) then you will receive a machine that makes noise, heat and wastes energy without actually doing anything.

When you finally hook up the device they ship you, it will MAKE 0$. Nothing. Because the mining rate will be so hard by them, that you it would be like trying to mine a Bitcoin with your laptop CPU today.

Also, search them on Google. Do you find it morally correct that an ad shows from them where you can lease them miners in their facility (where they actually just show empty boxes…)

Yes! They are actually mining themselves now if that is even true. So why in the world would they ship YOU anything? If they ship you something it’s because they know it costs more energy to run it than the profit you are going to get from the device.

Someone here commented you will have a device for years to come. Really? From the 50 people or so that received something so far, I think 10 already burned their cheap Chinese crap chips. And you will be lucky if you don´t burn your house down when they light up in fire like a Christmas tree. So sorry friend, you will not be running these crappy untested devices for too long. Don´t believe me? They send some devices to the press (to get free marketing) like the above article also says and the device they send to Ars Technica actually failed the second day, imagine if those are their top devices send to the media what yours will be. Are you going to wait another 2 years for a replacement?

And the real evidence this guys are scammers is that they lie about refunds in their website. They don´t do refunds at all, it’s a plain lie. They wait 60 days and then will you tell you, that no refunds are done once your device enters productions. So how do you know if it entered production? Faith. Like believing in aliens.

They even tell the same reply to people that have their orders still in “Pending” for over 6 months, which means the order was not even processed yet…. For those that don´t understand why this is already a scam. What they are doing is ILLEGAL by US LAW. You cannot take someone’s money, never ship anything for over 2 months and then deny them a refund. Eventually some government agency is going to bust them down and then all those that ordered will be left dry because you can be 100% sure that someone will shut them down eventually for their illegal taking of money and denying refunds. They are by law entitled to refund anyone waiting over 30 days but they will not do so. In their website it says it will take 60 days for a device to be shipped. LIE! Not a single person that ordered from them received something in that timeframe since even they admit they have still not shipped all orders from last year and they say in their website that some people offer them money to get up in the order queue but since they are so morally correct they say NO, everyone gets their orders processed by date of arrival, so how in the world are they saying one thing but publishing something else in their own website? Because orders from 2012 are still not fully shipped.

Why do they put that 60 days marketing number in the website? Simple. Because for those morons paying by PayPal. PayPal will not allow you to dispute the charge anymore on the day 60. So if you paid by PayPal do it before day 59 and ButterFly Labs wants you to wait at least 61 days. Did I forget to mention they actually don´t accept orders over 500$ for PayPal? Because they are afraid of actually having to refund people. And if you paid by Bitcoins then good luck…

They are scammers. Plain and simple, since anyone ordering from them has absolutely no clue what is being done with their money. No queue, no status on orders, nothing. Want the real piece of evidence? The company is run by persons that have charges for fraud in the US and if you happen to be in their state, send them an email telling them you will pick up your order yourself and see what they will reply.

On the Internet they tend to put some pictures of a few empty boxes from time to time and they DID send a few devices, maybe 50 or so for the thousands of people they ripped money already. They are just waiting, making time, until they can earn enough Bitcoins to send most people something, something that will never make you a single dime since they are actually mining with the few devices they have, once its mined day and night for a few weeks, it will go into a box, used, to someone around the world that cannot complain in person.

Butterfly labs is a SCAM. Call your local law enforcement agency if you ordered from them or go to the following website and fill a report:

    http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Because in the US they should have send you something before 30 days of taking your money. This is why most US stores only charge your credit card once your product left the warehouse, because you cannot charge someone money, and not ship them absolutely anything, its money laundry and they are probably not paying you the interests fees for using your money for over a year. Let alone those that paid with Bitcoin since I don´t even thing they report those orders or pay taxes on them at all.

If you did ordered from them, then you will have to accept you were fooled and lost your money.
