As the price of Bitcoin trundles to new heights, more and more people are looking to cash in their Beenz and run like Hell before exchanges vanish or are “hacked,” and are finding it to be a rather daunting task. With the popular Magic: the Gathering Online eXchange taking almost two yearsto allow withdrawals, Bitcoiners are turning to smaller exchanges that are ill-prepared to handle the volume, small-potatoes ATMs, or shady parking lot deals made through LocalBitcoins.
We’re here today to detail the story of a man in Canada who happened to mine some Bitcoins back when CPU mining was possible, then forgot about them until the hype started to bubble the price unsustainably. This adventure is proving to be a little more difficult than expected. Here is his story so far, as outlined by SA Forums goon UberJumper: Read More
Silk Road replacement “Project: Black Flag” closes up shop, owner thanks everyone for the free coins

After the Silk Road got shut down by the Feds, many replacements popped up, all vying to take their place at the top of the illegal drug trade pile. One of these sites was Project: Black Flag.
Launched on 14th October 2013 not much was known about this project only that its aim was to be a replacement for Silk Road and is run by a character known as “Metta Dread Pirate Roberts” who appears was not involved in the running of the old site but is building a new site in its image with same policy’s and features meaning no weapons, counterfeits or stolen goods. MettaDRP may have had access to Silk Road’s old DB or source code.
Well, our good pirate friend just made off with all the booty! Yarrrrrr!!
Thanks for the coins suckers! You’re on your own now.
I don’t know how these idiots keep falling for it again and again.
Don’t worry though, some anonymous internet tough guys are on the case!
This comment comes from the thread.
I know everything.
I know who you are. More specifically, I know your consumer IP address, your name, your age, and your place of birth. You have not configured your Tor correctly, by the way.
I was able to gain access to the server shortly after you put it up.
I know you used an Ubuntu machine running Apache 2.2.22 on port 4986, binded to 127.0.0.1. Binding to localhost doesn’t magically solve all your security problems, by the way.
I know you used an outdated version of phpMyAdmin to access the PBF database and perform searches and maintenance tasks. I know had set up a crontab to periodically curl http://ajd4yqq7ngzmqo3p.onion/cron.php. I know you also set up testing scripts on multiple occasions, at http://ajd4yqq7ngzmqo3p.onion/tt.php(PHPCoinAddress test) and http://ajd4yqq7ngzmqo3p.onion/ttt.php (pathetic code with a very insecure method of “tumbling” coins).
More importantly, I know you exported the “sr” database in phpMyAdmin right before the purge. And I know you backed up www.tar.gz to http://ajd4yqq7ngzmqo3p.onion/www.tar.gz. Unfortunately for you, both of these dumps are in my possession.
I recorded all transfers you sent through the bitcoind RPC interface. I have not yet filtered these transactions but it should not be difficult.
Some of the addresses: – 1ABkVAMaLZZFZ4w4zWqTYZnLZBXTfYLKBh – 19YrMzTFJBBvDpv43Bi9nbTPewY7jLqdTK – 1PfDu6ki4XLd7TPBJjih6wY3yzyBaG1h6N – 15Bvuuzu4LtaDc5HKHzK4YCK8TqEftgRVR – 14YpbZ49oqq6pss28WJnjBvQDXhNSGrYXL – 1Ns3GvhgeP8uK6ht3xzZC64xUaZVwygX2y
The database dump I downloaded contains these tables: – orders – users – market – items – messages – navigation – wallets – feedback – bonds – bookmarks
You have 24 hours to respond to this post. If this post is deleted, I will take it personally.
I’m sure that IP will do a lot of good when you tell the cops that some dude stole your money from drug buying website. Chief Wiggum will get right on that!

You don’t need to watch anything past the first minute. You probably won’t even be able to make it past the first minute anyways.

Title says it all.
Twilight’s got a new rig set up, mining fractions of Bitbits a day. She keeps a close eye on Mt. Fox (Magic: The Friendshipping Online eXchange) so that she can buy and sell at a moment’s notice, plus an hour or so for the transaction time. Pinkie Pie told her that Bitbits violate almost all the basic laws of ponynomics, but Twilight did it anyway. Since Celestia is footing the utility bill for the library, Twilight can mine all day and night for free, and with only a few years of mining profits she will be able to pay off the cost of the miners. Hopefully she doesn’t get heatstroke before the Equestrian Bit collapses and makes her a real Bitbit Princess!
Bitbits can only go up uP UP!
EXCLUSIVE: Interview with barbarianbob of “The Hole Seekers”, hacking group that took down BitcoinTalk forums.

On the day of October 2nd in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Thirteen, something amazing happened. In the wake of the shocking news that Silk Road had been shut down and that it’s fearless leader Sir Captain Dread Pirate Roberts was totally fucked, BitcoinTalk was once again the subject of a full breach of their forums and code was injected into every webpage. This is the exact same hack that happened nearly 2 years ago when Bill Cosby graced our screens inviting us to join the exciting new world of CosbyCoins. The attackers didn’t leave much information about how or why this was done but it’s probably our favorite moment ever on Buttcoin.
Being the serious investigative journalists we are, we decided to track down and find out who was behind the “Hole Seekers” hack this time. We got our hands on the source code (all 7000 lines of it!) and followed the rabbit hole as far as we could go until we finally got in contact with someone who called themselves barbarianbob. barbarianbob is the leader of the “Hole Seekers” hacking crew and agreed to meet us in a dark parking garage outside of the Mt. Gox headquarters and grant us a brief QA session.
This is the story of the BitcoinTalk Hole Seekers hack, told from the man who made it happen.
Check out what the “Hole Seekers” BitcoinTalk hack was like first-hand
After our exclusive interview with barbarianbob of “The Hole Seekers”, we got access to the source code of the hack and are available to give the gift that keeps on giving.

Bitcoiners rally around a Freeman’s right to not be enslaved by the state to pay his speeding ticket.

I’ve often stated that Bitcoiners and LIbertarians are one and the same, but there’s also a much more entertaining subset of the population that is attracted to Bitcoins, and that is people who claim to be a “Freeman on the land“, or Freeman for short. These are a group of people who believe that normal rules of law don’t really apply to them and if you just follow some bizzare magic ritual, you can convince any judge in a court of law of this fact.
